Mobil Nigeria Producing Nigerian National Undergraduate Scholarship Awards 2011
As part of its support to educational development and human capacity building, Mobil Producing Nigeria, operator of NNPC/MPN Joint Venture awards annual scholarships to qualified students in Nigerian Universities.

GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE

Awards will be made to qualified and suitable students from every state of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
DISCIPLINES
Applications in the following list of approved disciplines will be considered:
1. Petroleum Engineering
2. Chemical Engineering
3. Mechanical Engineering
4. Electrical/Electronics Engineering
5. Civil Engineering
6. Geology/Geophysics
7. Medicine (MBBS Only)
8. Agricultural Science (And related fields)

Eligibility:

Candidates must be holders of the SSCE or its equivalent with at least six subjects passed at a sitting with a minimum of 5 Distinctions.
Applicants must be registered full-time undergraduates in their 1st or 2nd year of study in any Nigerian University.
Students who are currently on similar scholarship awards from other oil and gas companies need not apply.
Dependants of employees of Mobil Producing Nigeria, Mobil Oil Nigeria plc and Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited are not eligible for this scholarship.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to come with the original and photocopy of the following documents for screening prior to taking the qualifying Test:
Evidence of SSCE result or its equivalent.
Evidence of admission into a Nigerian University.
Evidence of current year of study
Current University Identify Card.
2 Current Passport Photographs.
Evidence of State of Origin obtained from the appropriate Local government Area and duly signed by the Chairman or Secretary.

SPDC Joint Venture University Scholarship 2011
The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (Operator of the NNPC/SHELL /TEPN/AGIP Joint Venture) Scholarship Scheme offers first year students in all Nigerian universities the opportunity to study with an annual grant from the SPDC Joint Venture for the full duration of their course.  The programme aims to promote academic excellence and improve skills among young Nigerians.
WHO CAN APPLY? There are two categories within the scholarship – the National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award, East or West (OE or OW).
1. National Merit Award (NM) The National Merit Award (NM) University Scholarship is open to all Nigerian first year degree students in Nigerian universities who are NOT indigenes of SPDC’s operational areas (in Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers States). Applications must be sent in writing using the application format below only and sent in an envelope clearly marked 2010/2011 NM Award.
2a. 3. Photocopy of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) scores;
4. Photocopy of ‘O’ Level result(s); and ‘A’ Level /OND /NCE result(s) as applicable;  and
5. Letter of identification from State of origin (showing Local Government).
6. For applicants for the Operational Area Award, letters of identification must be stamped and signed by:
a) The paramount ruler of the community; and
b) The Chairman of the Community Development or Executive Council (CDC or CEC).
